PitStop

Living in a pit will lead to break out or break apart

Dealing with a Pit will help prepare you for what is prepared for you.

Most of the time we end up in a pit because we have been betrayed

There is always someone close to you that will betray you.

In order to get out of the pit we need to move from why me to what now..

Honor

We see honor as something that is earned something people have to work at to acheive.  Part of that is true but we are called to honor people if they have earned it or not.  So who are we called to honor?
  • Authority - Civil Authorities, Family (parents), Social (our bosses), Spiritual
  • Peers - people at the same level as us
  • Little ones - people who depend on us (our children and others)
So how do we honor these people?  Well let me say that honor needs to come from the heart.  It is not just talking or actions.  It needs to start in the heart.

Check out this book  (this was the person who spoke at our church today) for a lot more information.

Less is more in Health Care

This post is from the book I am reading Gut Feelings.
The book has a chapter on Health care and how doctors are afraid and feel they have to test every patient so they can be sure that they don't miss something.  In other words doctors feel they have to test for cancer and everything else just because you reach a certain age (which I haven't reached yet) just in the small case that you do get cancer you won't sue them for not finding it.  Doctors don't even provide you with the choice a lot of times they will just order the tests and not provide you with the benefits or possible risks of the test or if the test is even beneficial at all at diagnosing the problem.  All I can say is make sure you research any test that your doctor recommends before taking and don't be afraid to refuse to take a test.  Doctors today are not looking out for your best interest they are making sure you don't sue them for missing something.  By the way according to the book the two types of people who get the best level of treatment are doctors and lawyers.  And by best treatments I mean less testing and better care.

Don't miss Christmas..

  • No Vacancy - don't be so busy that you are unable to enjoy the simple things.
  • Detour Sign - don't consume so much knowledge and information that you forget what's important.
  • Caution Sign - don't be afraid to be honest and accept that you can't do everything on your own.

Instead try this:

  • Be Still - enjoy what you have and enjoy your family.  Don't focus on making a living but instead make a life.  Take 30min one night this holiday season and just go outside by yourself and just look at the stars.
  • Yield Sign - Slow down and surrender.  Don't try to control everything by yourself.
  • U Turn sign - Have an open mind and seek the truth.  This year look for a guide that will lead you to the truth.

5 Tips for visiting NYC

Just came back from visiting NYC my family and I and a great time.  This is the second visit this year.  Here are some tips:
  • Don't be afraid to use public transportation - we arrived at JFK and used the AirTram to Jamaica Station and then the subway and it worked great.
  • Don't be afraid to ask someone for help.  I can't tell you how many times we went the wrong way.  Every time we asked for help we received great advice.
  • Get a sense of direction - this is important know where some of the major landmarks are and use them as a sense of direction to find out where you are going (it helps).
  • Always carry cash - I am not use to carrying cash but a lot of places in NY don't take credit cards so I would recommend caring cash.
  • Don't turn Left - This trip I had to drive to NJ and for some reason they have something against left turns.  Not a fan of Jug Handles..

What do I do?

Well currently I work for a large company providing technical support for all their computers and servers. May sound boring but I do a lot more than that. I see my job as providing people with the technology they need to do their job and showing them how to use it.  I will go into more detail later.

Why start a blog..

Well this is not my first blog.. I have been using the internet and Social media now for some time.  I do have other ways I like to communicate like Wiki's but I still want to say more.  So I am back.  I will talk more about the name of this blog later.  I will also be sharing my Google reader feeds here.  So as a read the many blogs I read I will add them here and provide my coments..  Stay tune for more very soon.
